Negotiations for Pakistan next $1 billion installment from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are set to begin later this month.

The discussions, which form part of the second economic review under the IMF program, are scheduled for the final week of September, with an IMF delegation arriving in Pakistan on September 25.

Sources in the Ministry of Finance said preparations are underway for the second economic review talks with the IMF. Economic data is being finalized and will soon be shared with the IMF.

According to sources, once the second economic review negotiations are successfully completed and approved by the IMF board, Pakistan is likely to receive the next $1 billion tranche.
