Islamabad, June 21, 2025: The final of FIH Hockey Nations Cup will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand at Kuala Lumpur today.The match will start at six in the evening.
Earlier, in the semi-final, Pakistan defeated France 3-2 in a penalty shootout after the match ended in a 3-3 draw.
Rana Waheed Ashraf was declared the man of the match. Afraz Hakeem, Sufyan Khan and Muhammad Hammaduddin also scored goals for the national team.
Pakistan had secured its place in the semi-finals of the FIH Hockey Nations Cup 2025 in Kuala Lumpur after ending second in their pool, thanks to a better goal average even though they only earned four points during the group stage.

The road to the semis wasn’t exactly smooth for Pakistan. In their opening match, they drew 3-3 against Malaysia after conceding a late goal. In their second match, Pakistan edged out Japan 3-2 in a fast-paced contest held at the National Stadium on Monday. Their only defeat in the group stage came against New Zealand in third match in a close 4-3 encounter.

Earlier in the month, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) had announced a 20-member squad for the tournament. Imad Butt was named captain, while Waheed Ashraf Rana was appointed vice-captain.
