Islamabad, June 25, 2025: Pakistan aims to finalize trade talks with the US next week, vital for protecting over 5 billion dollars in exports. Moreover, strategic and investment cooperation also on the table.
A virtual session was held between Muhammad Aurangzeb, Pakistan’s Finance Minister, and Howard Lutnick, the United States’ Commerce Secretary, on the subject of US Reciprocal Tariffs on 24th June, 2025 at 20:30 Hours (PST).

Both parties expressed contentment with the current discussions and agreed to wrap up the trade talks in the coming week. It was further agreed that, in addition to the trade pact, a collaboration based on shared strategic and investment objectives would be formalized later, covering sectors of joint interest.

The conversation revolved around constructive cooperation in commerce, investment, and enhancing financial relations in ways that benefit both nations. Technical-level dialogues concerning trade matters are set to conclude next week.
