Islamabad, Pakistan – August 13, 2025: A young Pakistani innovator has made the country proud by winning the prestigious AI 4 Good Incubator 2025 with a revolutionary solution for sustainable agriculture.
Mahroosh Umer, an AS-level STEM student from Pakistan, led a multinational team to victory in the techthon-style competition, which drew participants from hundreds of countries worldwide. The five-day global challenge tasked teams with answering a critical question: “How might we use AI to accelerate the journey to net zero?”

Mahroosh and her team developed AgriGuard.AI, an AI-powered platform designed to assist smallholder farmers in adopting climate-smart agricultural practices. The platform leverages satellite imagery and soil data to provide localized, actionable recommendations that improve soil health and boost farm productivity. In addition, it helps farmers earn supplementary income through carbon credits, making sustainability both profitable and accessible.
Mahroosh played a pivotal role by prototyping the solution using Glide, an interactive tool that allowed farmers to visualize how AI insights could be applied to real-world farming scenarios. Her work demonstrated how technology could seamlessly integrate into daily agricultural decision-making, providing practical and data-driven support for farmers.
