Islamabad, Aug 29: In interbank trade, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) lost 19 paisas versus the US dollar, closing at Rs 278.64 on Thursday as opposed to Rs 278.45 the day before. The purchasing and selling values of the dollar on the open market were Rs 278.5 and Rs 280, respectively, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP).
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the price of the euro (EUR) dropped by 1.13 paisa to close at Rs. 309.59 from the previous day’s closing of Rs. 310.72. The British Pound (GBP) saw a decline of 38 paisa in currency rates, while the Japanese yen was stable and concluded at Rs. 1.92, which closed at Rs. 368.45 on the previous day and traded at Rs. 368.07.The Saudi Riyal (SAR) and the Emirates Dirham (AED) closed at Rs. 74.25 and Rs. 75.86, respectively, after each currency’s exchange rate jumped by 05 paisa.
