Islamabad, Sep 6: In interbank trading on Friday, the value of the Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 11 paisa relative to the US dollar (USD), finishing at Rs. 278.56 as opposed to Rs. 278.67 the day before. Yesterday saw PKR snap out of a three-day losing trend versus the USD, rising by 0.03 percent to settle at 278.67.
The purchasing and selling values of the dollar on the open market were Rs 278.75 and Rs 280.25, respectively, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP). The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reports that the price of the Euro (EUR) jumped by 63 paisa to close at Rs. 309.58, up from Rs. 308.95 the previous day.
While the British Pound (GBP) saw an increase of 81 paisa, closing at Rs. 367.19 compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs. 366.38, the Japanese yen (JPY) saw no change and concluded at Rs. 1.94. The Saudi Riyal (SAR) and the Emirates Dirham (AED) closed at Rs. 74.20 and Rs. 75.84, respectively, after losing 03 paisas each in exchange rates.
