Islamabad, Aug 5, 2025: The National University of Technology (NUTECH) has earned international praise for Pakistan by standing out in the World University Rankings for Innovation 2025.
Among 1,325 universities globally, fifteen top institutions from Pakistan were evaluated, and NUTECH claimed the highest position in the “Technology Development and Application” section.
NUTECH further made a strong impact by attaining the 218th global rank among the top 400 universities worldwide. It also secured 31st place in the Industrial Application category and came 43rd in Infrastructure and Technologies, showing consistent performance across multiple innovation-based criteria.
The World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) rankings are unique for recognizing universities based on their practical achievements, innovation efforts, and contributions to community growth, rather than just scholarly performance.

Unlike standard ranking methods that focus mainly on research articles and institutional prestige, WURI emphasizes how educational bodies respond to social needs, encourage entrepreneurship, promote moral responsibility, and provide workable answers to current-world issues.
Key areas in these rankings include innovation, industrial relevance, social engagement, student involvement, and emergency management.
