Islamabad Oct 21: Pakistan’s Meat Exports to China Reach $3.3 Million in First Nine Months of 2024. The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) reports that between January and September 2024, Pakistan exported $3.37 million worth of beef to China.
Chinese customers are growing more daring in their culinary choices and are more eager to taste premium meat from nations like Pakistan, according to Ghulam Qadir, Trade and Investment Counselor at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing.
Chinese customers’ tastes are ideally suited to the nation’s rich history of producing meat, especially beef and mutton. This need is not just a fad; it is a component of China’s larger objective to improve food security and diversify its meat sources.
How did Pakistan accomplish this significant goal? It all boils down to diligence and careful preparation. By putting policies in place to increase export capabilities, the government has shown support. Furthermore, Pakistani meat exporters have proven they can satisfy China’s exacting quality requirements. They have demonstrated their ability to compete on a global scale, whether it is maintaining sanitation or providing a steady supply, he told CEN.
The two countries that export the most boiled meat to China are Mongolia and Pakistan. Between January and September 2024, Mongolia shipped 2,410 tons of boiled meat valued at $10.24 million, while Pakistan exported 694 tons worth $3.371 million.
Notably, Pakistani businesses were allowed to export cooked beef to China last year by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC). and three Pakistani businesses have registered with the GACC thus far for this reason.
