Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced plans to assess the provision and quality of medical education in Pakistan. He has established a high-powered committee, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, to undertake this task. The formation of the 25-member committee has been officially notified under the directives of the Prime Minister. The committee’s mandate includes evaluating the standards of private medical colleges across the country and investigating the factors driving students to pursue medical education abroad.
