Islamabad, Dec 1: Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering Pakistan’s youth by emphasizing the significance of skill-based education. He shared insights on how the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program (PMYSDP) is set to help young people achieve global recognition.
A Vision for Global Recognition
During an exclusive interview with PTV News, Rana Mashhood stated that the PMYSDP is designed to equip youth with both conventional and high-tech, market-driven skills. The goal is to align their abilities with international standards, enhancing career prospects and contributing to Pakistan’s economic growth. He highlighted that the initiative is part of the Prime Minister’s broader vision of boosting employability and improving the quality of life for young Pakistanis.
Promoting Inclusivity and Gender Equality
The PMYSDP is inclusive by nature, aiming to empower young people from all backgrounds, including women, differently-abled individuals, and marginalized youth. Additionally, the program seeks to support youth workers in the informal sector, promoting opportunities for all.
Expanding Skills and Certification Opportunities
A major feature of the program is the introduction of international certifications in various skill areas such as artificial intelligence, digitalization, e-sports, plumbing, solar system installation, mechanics, beautician courses, and digital marketing. These programs aim to boost the global recognition of Pakistani youth and improve their employability both locally and internationally.
Attracting International Students to Pakistan
Rana Mashhood also noted that Pakistan is increasingly becoming a hub for skill-based education, attracting students from over 20 countries. These international students are seeking high-quality vocational training and entrepreneurship courses in Pakistan, which speaks to the growing reputation of the country’s education and training programs.
Economic Impact and Cultural Exchange
This initiative is not only enhancing cultural exchange but also generating revenue for Pakistan, contributing to its overall growth and development. The influx of international students showcases the global appeal and value of the country’s skill development programs.
