Islamabad, May 13, 2025: Tensions sparked in Park View City, Islamabad after homeowners received formal letters demanding payment for new development charges delivered through a private courier service.
The move, which residents claim came without any prior notice or signed agreement, causes widespread outrage and anger throughout the community.
In response, many residents staged peaceful protest, accusing the society of unjust extortion.
Images showing the alleged charge demands began circulating on social media, further fueling public outrage.

However, what happened next was alarming.
According to eyewitnesses, the society’s security opt aggressive measures to disperse the protestors.
Many residents, women, children, and elderly were injured during what witnesses called an unprovoked and forceful crackdown.
The incident rapidly gained online attention, with social media users criticizing the situation and calls for accountability.

Amid growing pressure, Park View City’s CEO, Omer Farooq, released a video statement claiming that the newly imposed development charges had been completely waived.
But when asked for confirmation, the management responded vaguely, saying the community had been “informed internally.”
However, residents insist that they have received no formal or written notification confirming the decision, leaving them uncertain about the actual status of the charges.
