A passenger bus traveling along the M-5 Motorway on Tuesday burst into flames, causing an urgent rescue operation by the Motorway Police, who successfully saved all 40 passengers onboard without any harm.

Spokesperson for the Motorway Police, Syed Imran Ahmed, stated that the passenger bus was en route from Karachi to Dera Ghazi Khan when a fire broke out due to friction in one of its tires.

On-duty officers immediately responded, launching rescue efforts and using firefighting tools to control the fire.

“All passengers were evacuated without any injuries,” confirmed the spokesperson.

Following the incident, Punjab’s Transport and Mass Transit Minister Bilal Akbar Khan took immediate notice by ordering a detailed investigation. He instructed the concerned authorities to compile a full report and ensure measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.

The minister expressed gratitude that all passengers were rescued unharmed and emphasized that the maintenance checks for vehicles will be strictly monitored and enforced.
