Islamabad, Oct 9: PCB Denies Reports of Venue Change for 2025 Champions Trophy. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has categorically denied claims made by a British tabloid that, should India qualify, the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final would be shifted from Lahore to Dubai.
The PCB has made it clear that all tournament matches, including the championship game, will take place in Pakistan. In spite of the current political strain between Pakistan and India, the PCB is unwavering in its resolve to ensure a seamless and prosperous tournament.
“The rumors that the Champions Trophy final would be held outside of Pakistan are completely untrue. According to a PCB Spokesperson, “We are working hard to make sure that everything is in order for the tournament, and we are confident that Pakistan will be able to host a memorable event.”
To get ready for the expected influx of spectators and international players, the Pakistani cricket body has started making major renovations to stadiums across. These upgrades are a part of the PCB’s bigger plan to develop Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure and position the nation as a world-class cricket destination.
The dates for the 2025 Champions Trophy are February 19–March 9, with March 10 serving as a reserve day. Powerhouse teams India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand are in Group A, while England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan are in Group B. Pakistan is matched against these countries. In order to confirm its participation in matches hosted in Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now awaiting conversations with the Indian government.
