Sami Ul Hasan has decided to leave his position as Director of Media and Communications at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The departure of Sami Ul Hasan will mark the end of a six-year tenure that began in March 2019.
Sami had previously served in the the cricket from 2002 to 2004 before moving to the International Cricket Council (ICC), where he spent 13 years handling media relations and digital strategies.
Upon his return to the cricket authority, he played a vital role in enhancing the board’s media presence and strengthening digital outreach.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed acknowledged Sami’s contributions, crediting him with improving communication strategies, strengthening ties with the media, and modernizing the board’s digital operations.
He noted that Sami’s efforts had significantly influenced the PCB’s transformation in recent years.
Reflecting on his time with the PCB, Sami shared his appreciation for the progress made in the Media, Communications, and Digital department.
He expressed confidence that the team had evolved into a highly professional unit.

His departure comes at a critical time for Pakistan cricket, with preparations underway for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
It is important to mention that the Men in Green lost a five-match T20I series against New Zealand by 4-1, with several senior players participating in the IPL.
Pakistan will now compete in a three-match ODI series against the Kiwis, starting tomorrow. The national squad has already arrived in New Zealand.
