The head coaches of the men’s national team, Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten, would be joining the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as essential members of the selection committee.The PCB officially announced on Wednesday that Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq had been removed from the national selection committee in a brief press release.
Wahab Riaz was on the men’s selection committee, and Abdul Razzaq served on both the women’s and men’s selection committees.Pakistan’s white-ball coach Gary Kirsten and red-ball coach Jason Gillespie will be on the reorganized selection committee. Former Pakistani cricketers Asad Shafiq and Muhammad Yousuf will be joining them, in addition to the captains of the corresponding formats.
“Today, the Pakistan Cricket Board affirmed that it has informed Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq that their participation in the national selection committee will be unnecessary. In a brief press release later, the PCB acknowledged that Wahab was a member of the men’s selection committee and Abdul Razzaq was a member of the men’s and women’s selection committee.
It said, “In due course, the PCB will provide additional updates on the composition of the selection committee.”This change is a component of the PCB’s larger plan to improve team performance during the hiring process.
