Islamabad, July 2, 2025: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to receive widespread rain starting July 5. A weather alert has been shared with district offices after the meteorological department observed signs of strong moisture buildup. Authorities say a new western system could also reach the region around the same time.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has urged local bodies to prepare. According to PMD, moist air currents are entering many areas of the province. A westerly wave is also expected on July 5 at night. Due to this, rain with thunder and wind is likely in many places.

Rain is expected in Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Kohistan, Battagram, Shangla, and others. It may continue till July 11, with some breaks.

PDMA says heavy rain may cause flash floods in streams and hilly areas. Cities like Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, and D.I. Khan may face urban flooding. Rivers in Chitral and Swat may also flood.
