Islamabad, Jan 3: The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has announced the formation of the Young Engineers National Forum (YENF), a new platform designed to empower young engineers and foster their professional growth. The forum aims to unite various young engineering associations, societies, and groups, creating a cohesive platform to develop leadership skills and enhance technical expertise among emerging engineering talent in Pakistan.
According to PEC, the establishment of YENF will involve creating a comprehensive database of young engineers, which will serve as a foundation for initiatives focused on enhancing their leadership abilities and supporting their professional development. This move is aligned with PEC’s goal of preparing young engineers for local and global market challenges.
Chairman PEC, Engineer Waseem Nazir, emphasized that the forum would act as the official representative platform for young engineers in the country. He highlighted that the initiative aims to boost the capacity of young engineers, ensuring they are equipped for both domestic and international opportunities. “Our priority is to enhance the abilities of young engineers to prepare them for both domestic and international opportunities,” said Nazir.
YENF will also focus on promoting unity within the engineering community, providing recommendations for initiatives tailored to young engineers, and playing a significant role in fostering national cohesion. The forum will aim to identify opportunities to elevate the engineering field while strengthening relationships among emerging engineers.
PEC has encouraged young engineers to join the forum as members, with associations, societies, and groups representing them invited to register via a provided link. The deadline for applications is January 20, 2025. PEC urges young engineers to seize this opportunity to contribute to the growth and unity of the engineering profession in Pakistan.
