Islamabad, Mar 17 2025: Peshawar Zalmi has confirmed the signing of Australian all-rounder Mitchell Owen for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.
The 23-year-old, who gained widespread recognition following his explosive performances in the Big Bash League (BBL), joins the Zalmi squad as a Supplementary draft pick.
Owen’s inclusion comes after the controversial withdrawal of South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch, who had been selected in the Diamond category during the PSL 10 draft.
Bosch, who was set to join Zalmi, broke his contract after signing with the Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Bosch is reportedly replacing injured pacer Lizaad Williams in the IPL squad, which runs from March 22 to May 25. In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a legal notice to Bosch for breaching his contract, outlining the repercussions of his actions.
Mitchell Owen, known for his hard-hitting batting and all-round capabilities, recently made waves in the BBL. He played a key role in helping the Hobart Hurricanes win their first-ever BBL title.
Owen’s impressive century in the final against Sydney Thunder earned him a place in the spotlight and cemented his status as one of Australia’s promising young talents.
Although Owen had gone undrafted for PSL 2025, Zalmi moved quickly to secure his services, strengthening their squad ahead of the tournament.
Zalmi Bolsters Squad with Rising Star Owen
Peshawar Zalmi’s management is hopeful that Owen’s addition will bring fresh energy and strength to the team, especially after the setback with Bosch’s departure.
