Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik’s said on Wednesday that pakistan wants to buy Iranian gas but cannot pay the international sanctions.
Addressing at the Pakistan Energy Symposium in Islamabad, the minister of petroleum said “a system free from sanctions was required for obtain Iranian gas. He recalled back the previous extensions and waivers given to nations such as Turkiye, Iraq, and Azerbaijan.While detailing with the government’s plans to increase domestic petroleum product output, Musadik Malik criticized the unaffordability of Pakistan’s $18–24 billion yearly import cost for gas and oil.
He listed steps being taken to boost local production of oil and gas, such as drawing in international exploration firms and modernizing regulatory procedures to promote openness.The minister discussed about Pakistan’s attempts to get Turkmenistan’s TAPI gas pipeline project forward, which should provide a reliable and reasonably priced supply of gas.
