Islamabad, Aug 11, 2025: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has seized and destroyed over 8,000 kilograms of rotten, foul-smelling meat during a targeted raid on a warehouse located on Service Road, Dhoke Kashmirian, Rawalpindi.

Officials revealed the confiscated meat bore no slaughterhouse seal and violated multiple food safety laws. The stock was allegedly brought from Sargodha, Jhang, and Gojra in ordinary vehicles without refrigeration, posing a severe health hazard.

Veterinary reports confirmed the meat was contaminated, with traces of water adulteration and a pungent odour. Authorities estimate the consignment’s market worth at nearly Rs. 9.6 million. A case has been registered, suspects have been identified, and investigations are underway.
