The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has made the decision to reappoint Stephen Constantine as the head coach of the national football team.
Though the official announcement is still pending, the move comes ahead of the third round of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, a pivotal phase for the football prospects.
Sources have revealed that the role of Constantine will be limited to the upcoming AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Syria, scheduled for March 25, 2024.
The PFF stated that a long-term coaching decision would be made later, citing a lack of time for changes, which led to the return of Constantine for the match.
English professional football coach previously managed the Pakistan team from 2023 to 2024, during which the team achieved significant milestones.
Under his leadership, the Shaheens won a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Cambodia and, for the first time in history, advanced to the second round of qualifiers.
A well-known figure in Asian football, Constantine has had successful stints managing national teams such as India and Nepal.
He is particularly celebrated for his two terms with the Indian national team, where he elevated the team’s FIFA ranking and nurtured young talent.
