Islamabad, Oct 1: PIA flight PK-222, en route from Dubai to Multan, encountered a significant issue when all its tires burst during takeoff. Fortunately, all 172 passengers were safely moved to the lounge without any injuries.
A PIA spokesperson reported that as the plane was preparing for takeoff, an engine malfunction warning was received. The experienced captain promptly activated the emergency brake system, bringing the aircraft to a safe stop.
To address the technical problem, engineering staff from Karachi will be dispatched to Dubai on a night flight. Some passengers will be flown to Lahore via flight PK-204, while others will travel from Sharjah to Multan on a PIA flight. The airline reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and is working efficiently to resolve the situation.
