Islamabad, Sep 8: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has released a tender for sugar procurement, ARY News reported, citing well-placed sources.
According to specifics, PIA has released a tender for the procurement of 32,000 kg of sugar, which would be utilized in the catering of national airline customers.
The interested parties have been instructed by the PIA tender to include a five kilogram sample with their tender submission.
Prior to this, Pakistan’s imports of sugar fell by 44.90 percent in the first month of the current fiscal year as compared to the same month previous year.
According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data, during July, over 280 metric tons of sugar were imported at a cost of $0.297 million, whereas 574 metric tons valued at $0.539 million were imported during the same month previous year.
In the meantime, compared to the same period last year, the country’s imports of edible oil, including soybean and palm, have dropped by 93.20 percent and 13.99 percent, respectively, during the first month of the current fiscal year.
