Islamabad, Mar10 2025: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the launch of round-trip flight operations connecting Lahore to Two Northern Destinations Skardu and Gilgit, starting March 31, 2025.
This initiative is aimed at boosting tourism in northern Pakistan, making it easier for travelers to explore the scenic beauty of Gilgit-Baltistan.
As per the airline’s schedule, Lahore-Gilgit flights will be operated twice a week, every Monday and Wednesday, while Lahore-Skardu services will be available on Thursdays and Sundays.
PIA has already commenced the final stages of preparation to ensure seamless flight operations on these routes.

In a parallel development, PIA is actively working on resuming direct flight operations to the United Kingdom (UK).
The airline is making arrangements to utilize Terminal 4 at London’s Heathrow Airport, as part of its strategy to re-establish connections with the UK market.
PIA’s management remains hopeful that the UK government will soon lift the flight ban on the airline, which has been in effect since 2020.
The UK’s Department for Transport (DFT) is set to conduct a final audit of Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) before making a determination regarding the restoration of PIA’s operations.
Once approval is granted, the airline plans to reintroduce direct flights from Islamabad to Manchester and London and Lahore to Two Northern destination sdeploying its Boeing 777 fleet to enhance passenger convenience.
