Islamabad, June 17, 2025: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) pilot filmed scenes of ballistic missiles being fired from within Iranian borders during a commercial flight on Monday night.
The incident occurred as flight PK-168, carrying Pakistani nationals from Al-Qassim in Saudi Arabia to Islamabad, was travelling through Saudi skies close to Dammam.
A PIA representative confirmed the incident to Hum News, noting that the missiles had been launched from Iran and were aimed toward Israeli territory. The aircraft, operating at an elevation of 35,000 feet, was in a position to clearly record the missile activity from the cockpit.

According to the airline official, such projectiles operate at high altitudes, well above the range that would pose any danger to commercial airliners, which allowed the pilot a clear line of sight to record the launches.

The event comes amid mounting hostility between Iran and Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, recently hinted that eliminating Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei might bring a end to the conflict — even though it was Israel that initiated strikes early Friday, targeting major military leaders and scientific experts.
In a retaliatory move, Iran launched waves of drones on Israel, followed up with ballistic missile strikes.
