Islamabad, June 24, 2025: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed its flight operations to Gulf countries after a brief suspension caused by yesterday’s tense regional situation.
The airline had cancelled all flight operations from Pakistan to Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Dubai due to the escalating security situation in the Gulf region, which had led to the temporary closure of airspace and delays across several routes.
According to the airline’s spokesperson, normalcy in the Gulf sector is gradually being restored. The Islamabad to Dammam flight PK-245 took off around 12:30 PM today after a long delay of 15 hours.
Yesterday, because of airspace closure, many flights had to be diverted. The Karachi to Madinah flight PK-743 finally departed at 1:00 PM after 14 and a half hour delay.
Lahore to Madinah flight PK-713 also faced a delay of 7 hours and left around 1:00 PM. Sialkot to Sharjah flight PK-209 also flew at 1:00 PM after waiting for 15 hours.
Other delayed flights that took off around 1:00 PM today include:

- Karachi to Jeddah flight PK-761
- Islamabad to Abu Dhabi flight PK-261

These flights taking off show that PIA has resumed its flight operations to Gulf areas again. Since the flights left late from Pakistan, the return flights back home will also reach late.
