Karachi: Exciting developments await Pakistanis residing in the UK and Europe as Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announces the resumption of its flights to Paris next month and to the UK on August 14, marking the end of a four-year hiatus. This revelation was reported by 24NewsHD TV.
Abdullah Hafeez, the spokesperson for PIA, shared that the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is expected to grant permission to the airline in phases throughout this month. Hafeez emphasized that upon receiving the Agency’s approval, PIA will prioritize the resumption of flight operations to Paris, with the direct flight to London scheduled to commence on August 14. He also noted that the airline is expediting repairs on its 777 aircraft in anticipation of the flight resumption.
Currently, PIA operates seven 777 planes, with two additional aircraft slated to become operational within the next two months, according to Hafeez.
In addition, a PIA General Manager expressed that with nine 777 planes in operation, the airline will significantly bolster its flight operations to Europe. Hafeez also underscored that Pakistan presently holds air service agreements with 97 countries.
It’s noteworthy that direct flights from Pakistan to the UK were suspended in 2020.
