Islamabad 28 July: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has initiated a special flight operation to facilitate pilgrims traveling to Iraq for Arbaeen.

The outbound flights from Pakistan to Najaf will run from August 8 to August 11, while return flights from Najaf are scheduled between August 18 and 23.

Each year, large numbers of Pakistani pilgrims journey overland through Iran to reach Najaf, but air travel for Arbaeen is seeing a consistent rise. In response to this growing demand, officials have indicated that the flight schedule and ticket prices may be revised.

Currently, the one-way fare for these special flights is set at 675 US dollars. However, many pilgrims are urging the airline to lower the cost and increase the number of flights to better accommodate the surge in travelers.
