Islamabad, Feb 26: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees are facing growing frustration as the airline’s staff ticketing portal, the “Hit-It” system, has remained offline for the past 10 days. The outage has been particularly disruptive for employees planning to travel for Umrah, leaving them unable to book tickets through the internal portal.

A PIA spokesperson stated that the system is currently undergoing an upgrade to enhance its functionality. While assuring that the “Hit-It” portal will be restored “in a day or so,” no specific timeline has been provided, adding to the uncertainty for employees who depend on the system for their travel privileges.

PIA employees receive annual domestic and international travel benefits based on their employment grade. However, with the ticketing portal unavailable, many have struggled to make necessary travel arrangements, especially for religious and urgent trips.

To address the issue temporarily, PIA has introduced an alternative booking option through the Crew Resource Control (CRC) system. Despite this backup measure, many employees have reported inefficiencies and delays, making it difficult to secure tickets in a timely manner.

As the airline works to complete the system upgrade, employees are urging PIA management to expedite the process to avoid further inconvenience. The prolonged outage has highlighted the importance of maintaining a reliable digital infrastructure for critical services such as employee travel bookings. With PIA striving to modernize its operations, the disruption serves as a reminder of the need for smoother transitions when implementing system upgrades.
