Islamabad, Jan 28: Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Akamatsu Shuichi, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Monday, where they discussed matters of mutual interest and ways to enhance bilateral ties.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the strong and friendly relations between Pakistan and Japan, noting the tremendous goodwill shared by the people of both countries. He recalled the history of excellent bilateral cooperation and expressed his appreciation for Japan’s consistent support in Pakistan’s economic and industrial development efforts. The Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s desire to further enhance trade and investment cooperation with Japan.

Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s development goals and promoting bilateral cooperation across various sectors. He also highlighted that Japan had recently celebrated 70 years of Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) to Pakistan, underscoring Japan’s continued commitment to its partnership with Pakistan in fostering development.
