Islamabad, Mar 11 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced the establishment of the Daanish University of Applied and Emerging Sciences in Islamabad.
Utilizing £190 million that was recently transferred from the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s account.
While presiding over a Steering Committee meeting for the university’s formation, the prime minister expressed his appreciation to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for ensuring the seamless transfer of these funds to the federal government’s account.

The Daanish University of Applied and Emerging Sciences aims to provide high-quality, research-driven education to deserving and talented students.
PM Shehbaz directed officials to expedite the legal procedures required for acquiring land in Sector H-16 of Islamabad.
Additionally, he instructed swift completion of the university’s charter, legal framework, and faculty recruitment process.
Cost-Effective and High-Quality Infrastructure
The prime minister emphasized that the university’s design should reflect simplicity and efficiency, advocating for the use of red bricks in construction to minimize costs while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
He also instructed authorities to appoint highly qualified faculty members to ensure excellence in education.
The Daanish University of Applied and Emerging Sciences will be registered as a Section 42 company, ensuring financial sustainability and reducing government intervention. The prime minister himself will serve as the patron of the institution.
