Islamabad, Mar 15 2025: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to combating Islamophobia on International Day, emphasizing that any form of hatred or hostility toward the Muslim community will not be tolerated.
Marking the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, he stated that such discrimination contradicts the core values of Australia and will be confronted with the full strength of the country’s legal framework.
The significance of this day is further amplified as it coincides with the anniversary of the Christchurch mosque attacks, where 51 innocent lives were lost in a tragic act of violence within a sacred space.
Remembering this devastating event, Albanese highlighted the lasting impact it had on victims, survivors, and the broader community and now combating Islamophobia on International Day.
