ISLAMABD/Jeddah, March 20: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif recently held an important meeting with Saudi Investment Minister HE Khalid Al-Falih and Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri, the Head of the Joint Task Force for Economic Engagement, during his official visit to Saudi Arabia.
The key focus of their discussions revolved around reinforcing economic cooperation, attracting Saudi investments, and speeding up collaborative initiatives in critical sectors.
The Prime Minister began by conveying his best wishes to the leadership of Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to supporting Saudi investors.
He highlighted Pakistan’s strategic geographical position and investment-friendly policies as key factors in facilitating investment opportunities.
PM Highlights Saudi Investment in Pakistan
The Prime Minister also emphasized Pakistan’s immense potential in various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and technology, urging Saudi businesses to explore these opportunities through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
On their part, Saudi Minister Khalid Al-Falih and Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri expressed Saudi Arabia’s keen interest in strengthening economic ties with Pakistan.
They focused on improving institutional collaboration to accelerate the pace of investment projects and ensure their effective and smooth implementation.

Both sides agreed to continue their efforts to enhance the economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia by structuring engagements more effectively and prioritizing the swift execution of joint initiatives.
The meeting also saw the presence of key members from the Pakistani delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief Minister of Punjab Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Minister for Climate Change Mr. Musadik Malik, and National Coordinator for the Special Investment Facilitation Council, Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ahmed was also part of delegation.

The Saudi delegation comprised senior representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Investment as well as the Joint Task Force for Economic Engagement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The discussions underscored both nations’ shared commitment to building a robust, long-term, and mutually beneficial economic relationship, with an emphasis on executing joint projects efficiently and with a focus on economic growth and development.
