Islamabad, Aug 20: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a five-person team from Meta on Tuesday, led by vice president for Asia Pacific Simon Milner. The purpose of the gathering was to investigate potential areas of cooperation between Pakistan’s digital media and information technology industries.
The prime minister emphasized the enormous potential in these fields and the government’s dedication to advancing information technology. He mentioned that Pakistan has never before seen such a large fund set aside for this reason. He stated that he wished to take advantage of Meta’s artificial intelligence and information technology experience, and he instructed the appropriate authorities to address any problems pertaining to Meta’s activities in Pakistan.
The prime minister was briefed by the Meta delegation about their services in Pakistan and the Asia Pacific area. They discussed the projects they were working on in Pakistan, such as organizing the first AI competition in the area.The parties underlined their shared commitment to working together to advance Pakistan’s digital media and artificial intelligence industries.
Shaza Fatima, the Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecom, Jehanzeb Khan, the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Tania Aidrus, and other high-ranking government officials were present at the meeting.
