Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his pleasure as far as the steps taken towards turning Pakistan to cashless and digitalized economy. Addressing a high-level review session, he restated the government commitment in ensuring financial digitization as a priority and called on all out support to the Raast which will be rolled out to all district.
The Prime Minister ordered all Chief Secretaries to work with the federal government with regards to extending the Raast payment network at district level. He highlighted the necessity to have high collusion between the federal and provincial government to have flawless implementation of this plan.
Authorities provided an overview of currant efforts to create a virtual economy. Digital Public Infrastructure in Pakistan comes soon as the digital ID will be integrated with CNICs, biometric history, and mobile number to enable a smooth transaction across the country.
Provincial progress of linking of the Raast system with government-to-public (G2P) and public-to-government (P2G) payment was also emphasized in the meeting which will enhance efficiency and transparency within financial transactions.

It was also indicated that the right of way on fiber connectivity to enhance digital infrastructure has been granted by the Federal Development Authority. Negotiations to grow this support are under way with Pakistan Railways and the National Highway Authority.
Prime Minister was present during the session with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Economic Affairs Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, IT Minister Shaza Fatima, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, Advisor Dr. Tauqir Shah, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani and senior officials in attendance. The Prime Minister concluded by adding emphasis to further progression of nationwide Raast rollout to districts.
