Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met President of the United States Donald Trump in Washington, where the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and exchanged views on regional and international developments.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The talks took place in a cordial atmosphere and were also joined by US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Ahead of the meeting, President Trump praised PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership in Pakistan.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, he described the visiting dignitaries as “great leaders,” adding, “We have the Prime Minister of Pakistan coming and the Field Marshal. The Field Marshal is a very great guy, and so is the Prime Minister.”
The premier is currently in the United States to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Following the high-profile meeting in Washington, he is scheduled to return to New York to deliver his address at the UNGA.
