Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will embark on an official visit to China from August 30 to September 4, 2025, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Foreign Office announced on Friday.

The premier will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State Summit in Tianjin. During his stay, he will hold high-level meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to discuss multifaceted aspects of Pakistan-China cooperation, including economic, trade, and strategic ties.

Shehbaz Sharif will also attend a military parade in Beijing alongside President Xi and other global leaders to mark the 80th anniversary of the World’s Anti-Fascist War.

According to the Foreign Office, the prime minister is scheduled to engage with leading Chinese businessmen and corporate executives to explore investment opportunities. He will also address a Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing, aimed at boosting bilateral trade and economic collaboration.

The visit is part of ongoing leadership-level exchanges between the two countries. It underscores the importance of strengthening the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership,” reaffirming support on core national interests, and advancing Phase-II of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Officials said both sides will also maintain close communication on key regional and global developments.
