Islamabad, Nov 29: PMA Raises Concerns Over New Report on Polio Cases. Dr. Shahid Malik, the general secretary of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), voiced concern about the number of polio cases discovered this year and called for careful preparation in order to eradicate the illness.

In an interview with reporters, he stated that “it is imperative to focus on three areas to eradicate this infectious disease: awareness, capacity, and mobilization.” He also mentioned that polio cases may be decreased to the lowest possible level through awareness and mobilization.

“We are facing the unplanned migration within the country and cross border as it is a viral disease and a polio virus borne child can affect his surroundings,” he stated, highlighting the causes of the disease’s spread.

He also mentioned that a lot of kids stopped getting polio shots because of specific issues.”It affects the children up to the age of five years old perilously as they face the problem of nervous system breakdown,” Dr. Shahid added when discussing the disease’s impacts.In order to eradicate the disease, he also urged that the polio agent on the ground be kept safe and educated.
