The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly hot weather across most areas of the country over the next 24 hours. Southern parts are expected to experience very hot weather accompanied by dust-raising winds/gusty winds.
Windstorms/gusty winds with isolated rain-thunderstorms are anticipated in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, the Pothohar region, and Islamabad. The prevailing synoptic situation indicates continental air over most parts of the country, with a shallow westerly wave affecting the upper regions.
In the previous 24 hours, very hot weather prevailed over most plain areas, with isolated rain-thunderstorms occurring in Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Recorded rainfall includes Hunza 06C, Bagrote 03, and Gilgit 01 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kalam 05C in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Jacobabad 50C, Dadu, Turbat 49C, Sibbi, Lasbela 48C, Khairpur, Noorpur Thal, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Mohenjo Daro 47C, and several other cities experiencing temperatures around 46C.
