Islamabad, Mar 5, 2025: According to reports from 24NewsHD TV on Tuesday, both government and private MBBS & BDS institutions, including universities, have enforced stricter academic policies.
MBBS and BDS students must now maintain a minimum 90% attendance and score at least 70% to pass their examinations.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially put its latest regulations into effect, setting a higher benchmark for medical education.
Under the updated guidelines, the attendance requirement has increased from 74% to 90%, while the passing percentage for MBBS and BDS students has risen from 50% to 70%.
With these newly introduced policies, the academic framework for medical students has become significantly more demanding.
The aim is to enhance the overall standard of medical education, ensuring that aspiring doctors and dentists undergo rigorous training.
These adjustments are expected to produce highly skilled professionals capable of meeting international medical standards.
Educational institutions across Pakistan have started implementing these measures for the new academic session.
