The renowned character from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, ‘Tulsi Virani’ is reportedly returning to the small screen after a hiatus of over a decade and a half.

The actress behind the role, Smriti Irani, had opted for a career change, trying her luck into politics. However, now there are reports that Irani has started shooting for the second rendition of the TV show that captured hearts and attention from 2000 till 2008.
Back in the day, the show belonged to the TV channel Star Plus, and was famously known as the creation of the producer and director Ektaa Kapoor. ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’ will also be led by Kapoor. In addition to her various TV shows, Kapoor is also known for choosing ‘K’ as the starting alphabet for all her productions.
Indian media reports show that Irani has begun filming for the series under Z+ security. However, considering the hype around the first season, and the excitement related to the second season, the production set is being kept under tight lockdown. No one is allowed to carry her mobile phones with her to the set.
Tulsi’s husband, and the supposed side-kick of the protagonist, Mihir’s character will also be revived, and the actor of choice for the role is reportedly Amar Upadhyay. For the uninitiated, more than one actor played the role of Mihir, but even so Upadhyay was among the first choice of Ektaa even back then.
Staying on brand of far too many episodes, keeping audiences on their toes for months and months, Kapoor has confirmed that the new season will consist of 150 episodes.

Smriti Irani has held several significant positions within the Modi’s BJP. This is her first appearance since fully committing to her political career.
