Islamabad, Jan 23: The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) has launched the AJ&K Local Area Development Programme in Jehlum Valley, Haveli, and Neelum districts of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, aiming to combat poverty and enhance climate resilience.
This ambitious initiative, in partnership with the Hamza Development Foundation and BERD, focuses on implementing climate-smart strategies, empowering youth, introducing renewable energy solutions, and strengthening disaster risk reduction mechanisms to support vulnerable communities.

Speaking at the launch, Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan assured full government support for the programme. “We are committed to creating opportunities for youth and marginalized communities,” he stated. “Collaborations with organizations like PPAF serve as a model for sustainable development and social progress, ensuring no one is left behind as we work toward a brighter future.”
The AJ&K Local Area Development Programme is designed to foster long-term socio-economic development in the region by addressing critical challenges, empowering communities, and building resilience to climate impacts.
