Islamabad, Sep 17: In order to combat the effects of climate change, President Asif Ali Zardari has sought for greater cooperation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and underlined the scale of Pakistan’s climate finance demands.
He emphasized that the harsh climate shifts and the catastrophic floods of 2022 had a significant effect on the nation’s economy, agriculture, infrastructure, and educational system. He discussed these opinions with Masatsugu Asakawa, the visiting president of the Asian Development Bank, during their Tuesday visit at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The meeting was also attended by Senators Saleem Mandviwalla and Ms. Sherry Rehman.

He said that the nation has suffered severe economic losses as a result of the fight on terror. The President expressed gratitude to ADB for its assistance in Pakistan’s socioeconomic development. In addition, he expressed gratitude to President ADB for helping Pakistan following the floods in 2022.
Pakistan is suffering greatly from the effects of climate change, especially with the melting of glaciers occurring more quickly, according to Masatsugu Asakawa, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
