Ankara/Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, met with the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during his official visit to Ankara today.

The meeting highlighted the enduring fraternal ties between the two nations and their mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the need to boost economic collaboration, particularly through joint ventures and investments.

He identified key areas for cooperation, including energy, mining, defense, agriculture, regional connectivity, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The leaders also reviewed the outcomes of the 7th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) held in Islamabad in February 2025, expressing satisfaction with the progress in their multifaceted partnership.

In addition to bilateral matters, both leaders discussed regional and global issues, expressing concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

They called for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the affected people. President Erdoğan thanked Pakistan for its consistent support for Palestine and its humanitarian efforts.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye, aiming to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

Prime Minister Sharif’s delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of Information & Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar, SAPM Tariq Fatemi, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Dr. Yusuf Junaid.

President Erdoğan hosted a banquet in honor of Prime Minister Sharif and the accompanying delegation.
