Islamabad, Dec 26: The Sindh Education Department has issued a directive aimed at regulating fee collection practices in private schools to provide financial relief to parents and ensure greater transparency. Acting under the instructions of Additional Director Rafia Javed and guided by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Directorate of Inspection and Private Institutions has introduced a set of detailed guidelines on fee collection timelines.
According to the circular, the academic year 2025-26 is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2025, with matriculation examinations slated to begin on March 15, 2025. To alleviate financial pressures on parents, private schools have been instructed to collect tuition fees for matriculation students only up to April 2025. For other students transitioning from pre-primary to Class IX or moving from Class IX to Class X, fees for June and July 2025 may be collected during April and May 2025, respectively.
A key aspect of the new guidelines is the requirement for separate fee vouchers for each month. This measure is designed to simplify payments and enhance financial accountability. Vouchers issued for June will remain valid until June 30, 2025, while those for July will be valid until July 31, 2025.
The department has emphasized that strict adherence to these regulations is mandatory for all privately managed schools in Sindh. Non-compliance will result in severe action against violators. The notice reiterates the government’s commitment to reducing the economic burden on parents and fostering a more equitable education system.
These directives are part of broader efforts to promote fairness and accountability in private educational institutions. The department’s firm stance is expected to bring much-needed relief to families while ensuring schools maintain compliance with the outlined policies. The guidelines have been implemented with immediate effect.
