The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has launched a major action against tax evasion, seizing the business records of a popular restaurant chain for allegedly failing to deposit sales tax collected from customers.
The operation took place during inspections in Lahore and Gujranwala, where PRA enforcement teams found that the food chain had charged tax but did not transfer it to the government treasury.
Officials confirmed that all company records have been taken into custody for further review. The PRA has also set up special recovery teams to collect millions of rupees in unpaid taxes from the business involved.

In a public statement, the authority urged citizens to always ask for a digital invoice carrying the PRA’s PNTN number when availing any taxable service. This step, they said, helps ensure that collected taxes reach the provincial treasury and supports transparency in transactions.
