Islamabad, 8 May, 2025: PSL 10 could soon see a change in venue, as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) considers relocating the remainder of the tournament overseas due to rising geopolitical tensions along the eastern border.
With security conditions rapidly evolving, officials are actively evaluating alternative hosting options in the UAE and Qatar.
Initial reports suggest that PSL 10 fixtures were already moved to Karachi earlier in the day, following increased concerns stemming from recent developments involving India.

Although no official confirmation has yet been issued, sources indicate that discussions have intensified between PCB leadership, government security experts, and franchise representatives to finalise the next steps.
A final announcement is expected later tonight. The potential shift comes after match schedules were disrupted earlier in the season, with games previously set for Rawalpindi and Lahore transferred to Karachi.
The tightening of airspace and advisories from international embassies have further added pressure on organisers to act swiftly.
Dubai and Doha Emerge as Backup Hosts for PSL 10
Dubai and Doha have emerged as leading options for hosting the remainder of PSL 10, given their past experience in accommodating the league.
Dubai, in particular, was a consistent venue during the league’s early years, with over 60 matches staged there between 2016 and 2019.
Both cities offer the infrastructure and security assurances required to manage high-profile sporting events on short notice.

Despite the looming uncertainty, cricket continues, with fans and players hopeful for a smooth conclusion to what has been one of the most competitive editions of the tournament.
However, the shadow of regional conflict has raised the stakes beyond the pitch, as cricket administrators navigate a delicate balance between sporting continuity and public safety.
All eyes are now on the PCB, which is expected to make its final decision within hours, potentially altering the trajectory of this year’s PSL 10 under extraordinary circumstances.
