In Islamabad, on Monday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) observed a bearish trend as the 100-index lost 303.22 points, marking a negative change of 0.40 percent, closing at 75,575.26 points compared to the previous day’s 75,878.48 points. During the trading session, a total of 441,261,756 shares valued at Rs 18.634 billion were traded, contrasting with 523,299,973 shares valued at Rs 20.574 billion the day before.
A total of 426 companies participated in the stock market, where 199 recorded gains, 178 sustained losses, and the share prices of 49 companies remained unchanged. The top three trading companies included Fauji Cement, K-Electric Limited, and PIA Holding Company. Nestle Pakistan Limited saw the highest increase in share price by Rs 154.64, closing at Rs 7,349.19, followed by Sazgar Engineering Works Limited with a rise of Rs 34.31 to Rs 820.45 per share. Meanwhile, Sapphire Fiber Limited experienced the most significant decrease, with its share price dropping by Rs 72.57 to close at Rs 1,407.43, followed by Hallmark Company Limited with a decline of Rs 35.23 to close at Rs 456.43.
