Islamabad, Dec 8: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced the option to register a VPN using a mobile number to ensure legitimate and secure operations for freelancers without static IP addresses.
Freelancers can now easily register their mobile phone numbers with PTA to access VPNs on mobile data connections.
This initiative aims to streamline VPN registration, supporting the IT industry. Over 31,000 VPNs have already been registered.
Last month, PTA simplified the process for organizations and freelancers, enabling entities like software houses, call centers, and embassies to register online via its official website.
Freelancers must provide proof of project or company affiliation and an IP address, which can be obtained through their internet service provider if using a fixed IP.
