The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office Abbottabad, in collaboration with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Abbottabad, conducted raids at various locations against the illegal tampering of mobile phone IMEIs and the sale of cloned/modified devices.
The raids were carried out at mobile repair shops near Fawara Mosque, Mochi Bazaar, Haripur, and on Main GT Road, Haripur. Mobile phones, desktop PCs, laptops, USB devices, and DVRs were seized during the operations. Three individuals were arrested on the spot and handed over to NCCIA for legal proceedings.

It is important to note that IMEI tampering and the trading of cloned mobile phones pose a serious threat to national security and public safety. PTA urges the public to report any suspicious activities so strict legal action can be taken against such elements.
